This site is a historical record. It is important to know who helped a would-be dictator gain power. When respected people - like business leaders, politicians, or famous figures - support dangerous leaders, they make extreme ideas seem normal and acceptable. Their support provides money, connections, and respectability that makes it much easier for those leaders to destroy democracy. Keeping track of who helped them lets us learn from history and spot the warning signs early.

They are there are supplicants ... President Trump broke the oligarchs and they surrendered. They said, 'we'll take off any constraints' ... I view this as September 1945.
Among the worst was President Joe Biden’s taking smiling photos with Trump at the White House. Biden is right to respect the 2024 election results and conduct the transfer of power, but he doesn’t need to treat the incoming administration as normal. The smiling photos signal to the public that calling Trump a fascist enemy of constitutional democracy was merely campaign hyperbole.
Bosa crashed NBC's post-game interview of his teammates Brock Purdy, George Kittle and Isaac Guerendo to point to his 'Make America Great Again' cap and show his support for former president Trump ahead of the upcoming election.
However, the 27-year-old was more reserved after the game when he was asked about his decision to wear the hat. 'I'm not gonna talk too much about it, but I think it's an important time,' he said on the podium - with a different cap on his head.

Trump had sued Disney-owned ABC for defamation because anchor George Stephanopoulos said on air that Trump had been found liable for rape in the E. Jean Carroll case, but the jury had found that Trump was liable only for sexual abuse, not rape. ABC had a strong case on the merits, since the presiding judge said Trump’s actions, while technically not “rape” under New York state law, met the common understanding of “rape.” Additionally, U.S. law sets an especially high bar for defamation regarding media coverage of public figures. But despite the attorneys and deep pockets to fight the lawsuit, ABC/Disney folded, even agreeing to pay an additional $1 million toward Trump’s legal fees.
Specifically, the company will no longer set "aspirational representation goals," or targets for achieving diverse representation in senior roles. Instead, the company says it will have conversations "with suppliers about inclusion as it relates to business performance."

Corporate capture of Dems is real. In 2022, we campaigned extensively in the US for anti-trust legislation.
Two bills were ready, with bipartisan support. Chuck Schumer (who coincidently has two daughters working as big tech lobbyists) refused to bring the bills for a vote.
At a 2024 event covering antitrust remedies, out of all the invited senators, just a single one showed up - JD Vance.
By working on the front lines of many policy issues, we have seen the shift between Dems and Republicans over the past decade first hand.
Dems had a choice between the progressive wing (Bernie Sanders, etc), versus corporate Dems, but in the end money won and constituents lost.
Until corporate Dems are thrown out, the reality is that Republicans remain more likely to tackle Big Tech abuses.
In a memo sent to its employees, the Minneapolis-based retailer said it will end its three-year DEI goals, stop reports to external diversity-focused groups like the Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index and end a program focused on carrying more products from Black- or minority-owned businesses.
The memo was sent to staff Friday and viewed by CNBC.
It was written by Kiera Fernandez, chief community impact and equity officer at Target. “Many years of data, insights, listening and learning have been shaping this next chapter in our strategy,” she said in the memo. “And as a retailer that serves millions of consumers every day, we understand the importance of staying in step with the evolving external landscape, now and in the future – all in service of driving Target’s growth and winning together.”
The changes come soon after an election win by former President Donald Trump, who has criticized DEI initiatives and surrounded himself with conservatives who hold similar views, including his former adviser Stephen Miller, who leads a group called America First Legal that has challenged corporate DEI policies. Trump named Miller to be the deputy chief of policy in his new administration.

The quiet relationships between the Gretzkys and the Trumps became more public in November after the former attended a post-election victory party at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida. “You did it, You deserved it, you earned every bit of it.
The world is a better place to have you as our Leader, Proud to be an American. Thank you for being such a great friend. May God keep watching over you,” Janet wrote in a since-deleted Instagram post that featured photos from the event, including one of Trump and her husband conversing privately.

Google and Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai is expected to attend Trump's inauguration, a person familiar with the matter told Reuters on Wednesday. Google was among the companies that donated $1 million to Trump's inauguration fund—a figure much higher than the $285,000 the company gave to inaugurations in 2016 and 2020. The company, which is facing two high-profile antitrust lawsuits brought forward by the Justice Department, may be attempting to win favor with Trump.
Here’s my personal view: doing a dance that mimics Donald Trump is stupid. Why? Because, whether it's the president of the United States or my neighbor down the street, I would never back someone who I believe is racist. I wouldn't glorify that. I wouldn't do it for anything.
If someone feels strongly the other way, no problem. But if you're going to make a political statement then be bold and brash enough to stand behind it. Don’t go quiet and don’t plead innocence like Christian Pulisic.
The USMNT star became the latest athlete to perform the Trump dance after scoring against Jamaica this week. He later insisted: ‘It’s not a political dance. It was just for fun. I saw a bunch of people do it and I thought it was funny.’

Smith said several of Trump’s executive orders would likely be shot down by the courts, but praised the president for trying to deliver on the promises he made during the campaign.
“He’s saying ‘I kept my promise,'” the commentator explained. ‘Then you turn around and look at the left and you say ‘What promises did you keep?’ What voter can look at the Democrat party and say ‘There’s a voice for us, somebody who speaks for us, that goes up on Capitol Hill and fights the fights that we want them fighting on our behalf?'”
